About Our Mission

Together we will build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable housing.

Changing Lives Through Homeownership

Habitat for Humanity Owensboro-Daviess County (HFHODV) is a leader in developing decent and affordable housing for low to moderate income families in our community. The faces of “low-to-moderate income families” are hardworking folks we encounter daily. People who serve us coffee at our favorite restaurant, first responders who mitigate our emergencies, and those who teach and care for our children and grandchildren.

Given the alarming number of families being evicted out of their homes, the high cost of substandard and dilapidated rentals, rental overcrowding, and rising rents laced with stagnating incomes, Owensboro-Daviess County, like many rural counties, is in a housing affordability crisis. HFHODV’s business model produces decent and affordable homes to Owensboro-Daviess County families and their children. Our approach is a measured and wealth-building alternative to building large-scale rental projects. Our expressed mission is to provide strength, stability, and security through shelter….one family and one home at a time.

We know the dreams of homeownership for Owensboro-Daviess County families are only a reality because of our volunteers, donors, and corporate partners/sponsors. Help us reach more deserving families – volunteer and donate TODAY or calling HFHODV’s office directly at 270-926-6110 for more information.
